Tech Support [Oct. 28th, 2009|11:43 pm]
My very new computer has been acting funny for the last several days. Any time it's left alone for more than 3 or 4 hours, I return to find a black screen with the following text:

"AHCI Port0 Device Error"

I'm then prompted to hit F1 to resume. When I do, the computer tells me that I need to insert the boot discs. I bought this computer with everything pre-installed, so this is an issue.

Do I need to take this in anywhere, or is this an easy fix? I can hard restart the computer with no problem. I only see the error if I've left the computer alone for a time. My compy tends to rouse itself from its idle periods, so it may have something to do with trying to kick back into gear after being idle.

Google, so far, has been no help.

Stuff [Oct. 13th, 2009|06:44 pm]
Don't know how many of you great people still frequent LJ, but just in case, I thought I'd throw out a plug.

You may remember some years ago when I posted a Bond countdown, listing all the Bond movies from worst to best, as I saw it. Well, it's back, rewritten, and with the two new films (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) added to the list. You may find the countdown, currently in process, at -- www.thehollywoodprojects.com

Also, stop by digitribe.net to listen in on the new episodes of the SmashCut podcast with myself and Joey, and check out some wicked stills from our new feature film, currently in edits.

BY THE WAY, if you somehow haven't heard: The two video game projects that I had a helping hand in have released and are available now. Fallen Earth and Dexter the Game are out in the world and doing VERY well, so if you're interested, please check them out. You won't be disappointed.

In other news, I'm still in NC, my daughter is THIRTEEN, and my country just BLEW UP part of the friggin' MOON.

That's all the update I've got in me.

Tarantino and movies [Aug. 26th, 2009|10:23 am]
Almost as good as watching a Tarantino movie is watching Tarantino TALK about movies. Here's a video where he lists off his 20 favorite films that have debuted since he started making movies. Some very bizarre choices, but it's a fun little list. 'Supercop?'

Casting of Pods! [Aug. 15th, 2009|02:25 am]
For those that missed the return of the podcast, well, the podcast has returned.

It's the SmashCut Podcast now, and it's just as good as it ever was. I leave it to you to decide what kind of a recommendation that was. :)

Check it out at...

And join our Twitter feed (SmashCutPodcast, of course) to get updated when each new episode goes live.

VFS contacted me about the 'Dexter' game to see if I'd be willing to answer some questions about the process of writing for a mobile game. If you're interested, here's the article. I got some press! Woo!

Dexter Update:

Another pretty nice write-up of the game I'm working on. Posted to facebook as well, so I apologize for the cross-post spam if it offends.
